Taking temporary care over an animal implies great responsibility to the guardian. Therefore, we at the Salatino Dog Center impose ourselves a maximum limit of 40 guests.

Here your best friend will never be treated like a bird, unless he happens to be one. He will never be put in a cage since space is what we have most.

Our dog guests spend the night in ample and airy apartments and those which are well socialized may have a room companion. Dogs always prefer company, as long as they get along well, resulting in a less traumatic separation from their owners.

During the day the dogs are free to roam in groups so each one can spend several hours running freely, playing and improving their social behavior, sometimes including swimming, runs on the treadmill or even taking agility or obedience classes. Our goal is that all dogs find pleasure in taking part in all activities offered to them and that they return home in better physical conditions that when they arrived. It is worthy to note that elderly dogs will receive special care based on their vet’s recommendation.

We also have special accommodations for cats, since due to their natural agility they require appropriate settings to keep them from escaping.

Our cat kennels are totally screened, with plated glass doors that open to a security ante-chamber, also fully screened, making accidental escapes impossible. The cat area is completely separate from the dogs, resulting in no stress for them since they will not hear any barking or other threatening noises.

Prior to check-in every animal has to present his/her vaccination card with all valid shots required for the species. Dogs require shots against rabies, V8, giardia and kennel cough, as well as an obligatory anti parasite solution applied to their coats to prevent against ticks, fleas and mosquitoes, in order to keep those parasites away from our installations.

While staying with us all animals undergo de-worming, returning home free of any intestinal parasites

Another regular practice is to trim their nails, since this service is normally rarely done regularly at home.

We also clean every dog and cat’s ears, since most owners have little experience or skills to do it themselves.

For those owners who lack the time to bring their friend to the Salatino Hotel, we provide transportation services using a suitable vehicle, monitored by satellite and fully air conditioned, in order to guarantee safety and comfort to our guests.

Our guests are periodically photographed while doing their daily activities and we send these pictures to their owners by e-mail so they can rest assured that their little friends are having fun while spending holidays with us.
